Upcoming events for the Spokane Symphony and Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox through the end of March 2012 include: 

Emerge 7 Women 7 Stools

When a Housewife, Grandmother, College Student, Abused Woman, Hustler, Cancer Survivor and Mistress all come together on the same stage, you have a recipe for a theatrical event that will be talked about for years to come. Emege 7 Women 7 Stools will be performed at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $37 and $32. 

Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra: Winning Performances 

Kevin Hekmatpanah will conduct the Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring solos by the winners of the Young Artists’ Concerto/Aria Competition on Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Soloist are Kaitlin Sandin, soprano; Monica Clark, violin; Kaitrin Cunningham, soprano; and Nickolas Ha, Trumpet. Tickets are general admission seating. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Admission is free for Gonzaga staff and students with I.D.

Spokane Symphony Casual Classics: Mozart’s Facebook 

Maestro Eckart Preu conducts the Spokane Symphony in a look at the Facebook of Mozart, a brilliant composer whose great genius could only be compared with his equally great sense of humor. Friends of Mozart include Wenzel Pichl (Symphony in C major) and Josef Myslivecek (Overture no. 2 in A). Selections by Mozart include Symphony no. 34, Canon 4a on Bona nox, bist a rechta Ox, and Mass, K. 167 “Trinity". The concert will be held at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Friday, March 9 at 8 p.m. Ticket prices start at $10. This concert is underwritten by Phyllis Kelsch.

Spokane Symphony Benefit: Venetian Masquerade Ball

The Spokane Symphony is hosting a Masquerade Ball in the tradition of Venice at its height at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. until Midnight. The evening will feature live music and dancing on stage, sweet and savory bites, complimentary wine, alternative raffle games and a photo booth, creative black tie, mask required! Must be 21 years or older. Ticket price $50. This event is underwritten by Northern Quest Resort & Casino, Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Arbor Crest Winery.

Spokane String Quartet: Songs and Piano

The Spokane String Quartet will perform a program of chamber music with mezzo-soprano Joanne Bouma and pianist Linda Siverts at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Sunday, March 11 at 3 p.m.  The program includes Hugo Wolf’s Italian Serenade and From the Mörike Leider, Brahms’ Two Songs for Contralto, Viola and Piano, Ernest Chausson’s Chanson Perpétuelle for Soprano, Piano and String Quartet, and Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major (1903). Tickets are $18, $15 for seniors and $10 for students. All tickets are general admission.

Chase Youth Awards 

The organizers of the Chase Youth Awards invite all nominees, nominators, friends, and families to attend the Chase Youth Awards ceremonies being held on Thursday, March 15 at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. The Elementary and Middle School Celebration is 5:30-7:00 p.m. while the Teen and Adult Celebration is 7:30-9:00 p.m. Tickets are free. 

Spokane Symphony Pops: Ann Hampton Calloway

A pop and jazz diva, Ann Hampton Callaway, who is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny, will perform with the Spokane Symphony under the baton of Morihiko Nakahara at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, March 17 at 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $25. 

Spokane Symphony Classics: Russian Drama 

Music Director Eckart Preu will lead the Spokane Symphony in exciting program of music, including Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 3, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 7, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 1.  Two performances will be held at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, March 24 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m. A pre-concert talk about the music will be held in the hall one hour before each performance. Tickets start at $14. This concert is underwritten by Maxine Kopczynski.

Spokane Symphony Special: Amore - Opera in Love

An expertly crafted evening of the most popular melodies everyone knows (whether they know they know or not) brings the drama, romance, seduction and betrayal of Opera to the concert stage. The four talented young vocalists who will bring classic opera tales to life are Mela Dailey, soprano, Jami Tyzik, mezzo-soprano, Brandon Wood, tenor, and Marcus Deloach, baritone. This captivating performance will be on Friday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Tickets begin at $27, $16 for students. 

Whitworth Wind Symphony 

The Whitworth Wind Symphony will perform their spring concert, conducted by Richard C. Strauch, featuring Lawrence Gwozdz on alto saxophone playing the World Premier of Michael Young's Concerto for Alto Saxophone at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Sunday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m. Ticket are $7, $5 for seniors, students are free.
