Upcoming events for the Spokane Symphony and Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox through the end of December include:

Spokane Symphony Presents: The Nutcracker

The State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara will dance this magical tale for the first time in the opulent setting of Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. The orchestra will provide the music of Tchaikovsky live under the baton of Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara.  Shows are on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $22, $16 for children. Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra with Daniel Gaisford

The Gonzaga Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Kevin Hekmatpanah, will perform a program featuring Shostakovich’s Festival Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Critically acclaimed cellist Daniel Gaisford is the soloist. Tickets are general admission seating. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Whitworth University Christmas Festival Concert, “Arise, Shine!”

Whitworth Christmas Festival Concert, featuring over 130 student performers including members of the Whitworth Choir, the Whitworth Women’s Choir, the Whitworth Men’s Chorus, and the Whitworth Chamber Singers, as well as student-instrumentalists and student-narrators, will be presented at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students and senior. Upper Columbia Academy Holiday Concert

Upper Columbia Academy presents its fifth annual “Christmas at the Fox” concert, featuring a Symphonic Band, a String Ensemble, a mass Choir and a small choral ensemble performing Christmas standards, both classical and jazz, sacred and secular, at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Spokane Symphony Holiday Pops: Celebration!

Morihiko Nakahara will conduct the Spokane Symphony in their traditional festive celebration, featuring the Spokane Symphony Chorale and Spokane Area Children’s Chorus, and of course, Santa, at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $25, $16 for children.
