Upcoming events for the Spokane Symphony and Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox through the end of October include:

Spokane Symphony Classics: Tango and Other Human Passions
Maestro Eckart Preu conducts the Spokane Symphony in an exciting program that covers a range of human passions from the sizzling tango of Golijov’s Last Round to the bucolic serenity of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6. In between, violinist Tim Fain is the featured soloist in Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3. Two performances will be held at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. A pre-concert talk about the music will be held in the hall one hour before each performance. Ticket prices start at $14. This concert is underwritten by Don Herak and Family on behalf of Gonzaga University.

Spokane Symphony: Kick Back Classics
The musicians of the Spokane Symphony will present Kick Back Classics, a different type of performance. In addition to performing in neighborhood venues, they will be “kicking back” and playing without a conductor – much like a chamber group but with symphonic proportions.  Performances are on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College Music Building, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive Building 15 and Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at Turning Point Church, 11911 N. Division. Tickets are $5.

Spokane Symphony: Autumn Chamber Soiree at the Davenport Hotel
The Chamber Soiree is a delightful evening of fine music in elegant surroundings in the Marie Antoinette Ballroom of the Davenport Hotel. Music selections, played by members of the orchestra, include a Sonata for violin and bass by Geminiani, a duet for percussion and bassoon by Scott Meister, a woodwind sextet by Janacek and a string quintet by Mozart.  Performances are on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Relax at a table with wine and hors d’oeuvres for $45 or take a seat in the gallery for only $20. This concert is underwritten by Potlatch.

Spokane Symphony SuperPops: Sinatra Sings Sinatra
Frank Sinatra Jr. pays homage to his father with the music that defines the Sinatra legend. Conductor Dan Keberle rounds out the program with a selection of Big Band standards on Friday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Ticket prices start at $25. Sinatra Sings Sinatra is underwritten by WestCoast Entertainment.

BYU Management Presents: Jon Schmidt

Jon Schmidt performing his unique brand of music that blends elements of New Age, Classical and Rock ’n’ Roll on Monday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.
