Spokane Symphony Chorale to hold auditions

The Spokane Symphony Chorale is delighted to announce they will be conducting auditions by appointment on Sunday and Monday evenings, August 23 and 24, 2009, to fill vacancies in all sections. The auditions are to be held at the HolyNamesMusicCenter, and are by appointment only. 

The chorale is a volunteer non-profit group of select vocal musicians whose primary purpose is to perform as the choral arm of the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. The chorale is directed by Julián Gómez Giraldo, Director of Orchestra at EasternWashingtonUniversity.

The audition will consist of a prepared solo of your choice, (an accompanist is provided), vocalizations to determine range, one sight reading exercise, and imitations of short tonal passages and rhythms given by the conductor. Everyone should bring two copies of their selection to the audition.
