Education Programs for Families

SYMPHONY YES!

Symphony YES! - Youth Exploration Series - The newly revised Symphony YES! program allows parents with children ages 8-14 to attend four Spokane Symphony concerts for dramatically reduced prices.  Symphony YES! tickets are flexible, allowing parents to choose either Saturday night or Sunday afternoon to best fit the schedule of their family.  Maestro Eckart Preu has suggested four concerts, but your choices are not limited to those.  For just $110, one parent and one child can attend four concerts.  Or you may buy individual concerts at Symphony YES! prices of $10 for children and $20 for the accompanying adults. Special activities may be added during the year and Symphony YES! subscribers will be notified by email of those free events such as meeting a guest artist or backstage tour.

Eckart Recomends:

Classics 2: Tango and Other Human Passions - with music from Mozart and Beethoven

Classics 5: Heroes and Legends - featuring William Tell Overture, the theme from the Lone Ranger

Classics 7: Sleeping Beauty and Other Tales - Russian music inspired by fairy tales

Classics 9: Percussion and Pathetique - featuring a Marimba Concerto

Call the Ticket Office at 624-1200 to purchase Symphony YES! tickets.

Additional concerts that have special children's pricing:

  • Holiday Pops Matinee A traditonal holiday concert, featuring a special appearance by Santa.
  • The Nutcracker Ballet Generations of families have delighted in the story of Clara, her beloved Nutcracker and their journey to the Land of Sweets.
  • Beethoven's Ninth This most powerful of symphonies has become the national anthem of Europe, where it is played as a part of New Years celebrations. Eckart Preu has brought this tradtion from his native Germany, and it is quickly becoming a must do for ringing in the New Years in Spokane.
