School Programs: In-School Resources

Spokane Symphony SEED ENSEMBLES
(Symphony Ensembles for Education):

Invite the musicians into your school!  Ensembles representing the four Instrument Families give interactive, inspirational performances in elementary schools, introducing the instruments and reinforcing musical terms and concepts in EALRs for Music.  A booking includes two back-to-back performances of about 40 minutes each.  Ideal audience size is 80 students; however, efforts will be made to accommodate larger groups if necessary.

Riverside Trio ~ The focus of this group’s program is on musical form, styles, pitch, and emotion in music, with an introduction to the instruments.  The string trio includes violin, viola and cello.

Stradivarius Quintet ~ Meet the Stradivarius Family at their woodworking shop, learn about string instruments – the sounds they make and how they work, and hear a string quintet, including two violins, viola, cello and bass.

Brass Quintet ~ Learn about how brass instruments work as students enjoy familiar and fun music performed by two trumpets, trombone, French horn, and tuba.

Woodwind Quintet ~ These instruments may not be as familiar but it’s very interesting to explore the sounds and wonderful blends created by oboe, flute, bassoon, clarinet and French horn in this interactive program.

Men in Black 4 (Percussion) ~ Travel around the world to see and hear different rhythms from different countries.  Learn about all the percussion instruments and how they are played.  Fee of $150.00
